Ipsy July Glam Bag Review

July Glam Bag: mini bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0, pur-lisse pur-protect essential daily moisturizer spf30, Clear Clinic Laboratories Vanished Clear Spot Treatment, Models Own Nail polish, and Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm

July Glam Bag: mini bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0, pur-lisse pur-protect essential daily moisturizer spf30, Clear Clinic Laboratories Vanished Clear Spot Treatment, Models Own nail polish, and Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm

My July bag arrived really late this month. The July bag’s theme was “Sensationally Sunkissed” and the bag was bright pink (my favourite colour!). Unfortunately it was another one of those plastic bags with a strong chemical off-gassing smell. Ick.

In the July bag was:

  • bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 mini with the shades “Muse” and “Passion” a pink and a purple shade:  $25.00 for full size
  • pur-lisse pur-protect essential daily moisturizer spf30 (15ml sample size): $65.00 for full 50 ml size
  • Clear Clinic Laboratories Vanished Clear Spot Treatment (2 ml sample size):  $38.00 for full 7.5 ml size
  • Models Own nail polish in “Red Sea”: $9.50
  • Pixi Tinted Brilliance Balm mini in “Pretty Pink” (1.8 g sample size): $22.00 for full size

Retail prices are in CAD and don’t include taxes or applicable shipping.

The total retail value of the July bag if I were to purchase the full-sized products (not including taxes or shipping, etc.) would be: $159.50 CAD. This month’s bag was pretty high-end.

I absolutely love the mini bareMinerals eyeshadow and mini Pixi tinted lip Balm – they are beyond cute. Pur-lisse and Clear Clinic Laboratories are two expensive brands and I’m excited to try them out. Overall, a really good bag this month!

Thanks for stopping by ❤

Love

Ipsy March Glam Bag Review

March Ipsy Glam Bag: NYX Love in Rio Eye Shadow Palette, bareMinerals Marvelous Moxy Lipstick sample, Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer, Chella Eyeliner Pen

March Ipsy Glam Bag: NYX Love in Rio Eye Shadow Palette, bareMinerals Marvelous Moxy Lipstick sample, Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer, Chella Eyeliner Pen

I’m a bit late reviewing my Ipsy Glam bag this month. The March cosmetic bag was my favourite  so far – a super cute, original design by artist Klari Reis. The bag contained:

  • NYX Love in Rio Eye Shadow Palette in “Segredos De Giselle”: $6.75 CAD
  • bareMinerals Marvelous Moxy Lipstick in “Get Ready” (1.5g sample size): $23.00 CAD for full 3.4g size
  • Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer (12ml sample size): $25.00 CAD for full size
  • Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner Pen: $26.90 CAD

Retail prices are in CAD and don’t include taxes or applicable shipping.

There were only four products in this month’s bag, which is slightly fewer than normal, but three of them were higher end brands that would be over $20 each to purchase on their own.

I love NYX eyeshadows, and I’m happy with the trio I received in “Segredos De Giselle” – a peachy pink, a beige, and a bronzey-brown, all shades that I would wear. The same with the bareMinerals lipstick shade; it’s a super wearable pinky-rose. The shade “Get Ready” seems to be exclusive to Ipsy, as it isn’t available on the Canadian Sephora site. I am also loving the Pixi primer, a water-based, fragrance-free primer that works well with my MUFE HD Invisible Cover Foundation.

I haven’t used the Chella Indigo Blue Eyeliner Pen yet, which is a water-resistant liquid liner. I’m not really a blue eyeliner person.

The total retail value of the March bag if I were to purchase these products (not including taxes or shipping, etc.) was: $81.65 CND.

The Chella website ships to Canada, but states “Canadian customers are responsible for all duties and GST”, and doesn’t say what shipping method they use. The Hudsons Bay Company logo is on their site under “About Us” so they may carry Chella products? For where to buy NYX, bareMinerals, and Pixi in Canada, checkout my Canadian Makeup Shopping Guide.

Trying out Pixi

I had a chance to go to a Target store recently (I don’t have one near where I live) and I thought I would try out Pixi. Pixi is a British brand, and as far as I know, the only place to buy it in Canada is at Target. I had heard really good reviews of their sheer cheek gels.

Pixi Sheer Cheek Gels in Natural, Rosey, and Flushed

I got Natural, Rosey, and Flushed. There is also a fourth colour, Peachy, but it looked very light and I thought it might not show up much on me. The cheek gels are oil free, fragrance free, and hypoallergenic.

Natural is described as “soft warm pink”. This is the most opaque of the three I got and is a natural peachy pink. Rosey is described as “perfect berry-rose”. Flushed is the darkest and is described as “fresh red”. Its similar to Benefit’s Benetint rose-tinted cheek stain and was the one I liked the best.

I am a huge fan of Benefit’s Benetint. I can’t say I like these quite as much. They are more sheer and feel a little bit sticky on the skin. Rosey didn’t provide enough colour for me, but I’ve worn Flushed quite a bit.

The plastic tube packaging makes them awesome for traveling though! I am always afraid my Benetint will leak or get broken, so the Pixi sheer cheek gel is a good alternative.

The sheer cheek gels retail for $18 CAD.
