Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great 2017. Personally, I am definitely looking forward to 2018! I had meant to get my 2017 favourites post up sooner, but I ended up being stuck in Nova Scotia for several days longer than anticipated. So many flights here were delayed and cancelled due to weather. Canadian winters! But luckily WestJet was super nice about it and even sent me $250 toward my next flight. Shout out to WestJet!
This time of year I always enjoy looking back over the past 12 months and creating a post about my yearly favourites and I really love checking out other peoples yearly favourite posts too. So, here are some of the products I have enjoyed the most in 2017.
My favourite, most used eyeshadows this year have definitely been from MAC. I have loved my MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundworks.
My favourite, most used MAC shadows, I have been keeping together in my Pro Palette Eyeshadow X 4. The pro pans I have in there currently are: Shale, Sable, Satin Taupe, and Woodwinked.
I have absolutely loved and nearly used up my Whipped Cherry Fruit Scrub. This is a great lip exfoliator and moisturizer and it tastes yummy too.
A lip product that I discovered this year was the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Kiss Cupuacu Lip Butter. This smells amazing!
I love lip pencils and have so many that I use regularly. It was hard to pick my favourite/most used lip pencil from 2017, but I think the honour goes to MAC’s Half-Red, a fabulous deep brown-red with a hint of burgundy. I wore this one a lot on its own, completely filling in my lips with it and topping it with a little lip balm.
I was favouring my MAC lipsticks this year and my purse was usually full of at least half a dozen MAC lipsticks at any given time. I rediscovered an old favourite that I’ve repurchased, MAC Syrup, a cool-toned, light, mauvey pink (lustre finish) and a great everyday kind of shade.
The other lipsticks I was using a ton this year were the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipsticks. I have several, but my favourite shade has definitely been Jam, which Bite describes as “rich merlot.”
I ran out of my favourite blush, MAC’s Mocha. Being on a bit of a low-buy I decided to go through my stash and start using up blushes I already have. Three blushes have been in my steady rotation this year: NYX Angel, Bourjois Little Round Pot Blush in
That concludes my yearly favourites for 2017. I hope you enjoyed it! If you’ve done a favourites post, please leave me a link to your post in the comments section; I’d love to know what other folks have been loving this year. And a huge Happy New Year to everyone!
