MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Frozen Violet

MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Frozen Violet

If you follow my blog, you may have seen my post about MAC’s Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundwork which I have been loving this fall. When I was in Toronto recently, I had a looooong wait in Pearson airport, so I did what any normal, makeup obsessed person would do and headed straight to MAC to swatch some Paint Pots. I love a MAC in an airport – what an amazing idea! There were several gorgeous Paint Pots I liked. Two were not in stock – Camel Coat and Tailor Grey (both in the land of matte, taupey goodness). The shade they did have in stock was Frozen Violet.
Frozen Violet is a beautiful icy, purpley-taupe with subtle silver shimmer. It has a really unique finish very different from a powder shadow. I love it on its own for sort of a “lived-in” smokey eye look that is actually pretty wearable for daytime. I haven’t been using an eye shadow primer with it and I find it wears well all-day with no creasing, like Groundwork. I have also topped it with MAC Shale, one of my fav MAC eye shadows, and (allegedly) worn by Kate Middleton.

Tragically, as I was composing this post, I checked the MAC Canada site, and neither Frozen Violet, Camel Coat nor Tailor Grey are available online! I was really bummed, because I’d planned on ordering Camel Coat and Tailor Grey. I don’t know if that means these shades are discontinued? I really hope not. They may still be available in-store at some locations, like Frozen Violet was, although that doesn’t help me so much because there is no MAC store in my entire province 😦

Are you a fan of the MAC Paint Pots? What’s your fav shade?

  2. I’ve actually never tried the MAC paint pots but there are some amazing shades. This one is really beautiful! I always waffle back and forth about purchasing Indianwood. Not sure if that’s two words or not?
    Great post as always!
