I’ve been blogging for two years and this is my second yearly favourites post. I’ve been enjoying reading other people’s yearly favs and it inspired me to think about what my true favourites were this past year, things I reached for the most and in some cases things I used up and repurchased. Some of my 2014 favs have turned up again in 2015 and some are new favourites.
Make Up For Ever HD and Ultra HD Foundation: This is the only foundation I used all year (I went through at least 3 of these). I was a huge fan of the original and I’m loving the new formula that came out this past year. Its light enough for my very fair skin, its water-based, agrees with my skin, and looks so natural. This was also a 2014 favourite.
Marcelle Ideal Skin Perfector: Most primers contain a lot of silicone or oils. My search for a non-siliconey, oil-free, fragrance-free primer led me to discover this in 2015. It works perfectly with the Make Up For Ever foundation and hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin or caused breakouts like others I’ve tried.
MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural in Light: I had purchased this way back in 2014, but hadn’t really been using it. I rediscovered it in 2015 and fell in love. I just hit pan and am going to repurchase it.
MAC Eye Kohl in Powersurge: This was my most used eye liner for the second year in a row! If you don’t have Powersurge already, you seriously need to go out and get it ASAP. This subtle, slightly shimmery, golden beige liner is perfection.
MAC Powder Blush in Mocha: This was probably my most used blush of 2015 and quickly became one of my favourite MAC blushes of all time.
Urban Decay Afterglow 8-hour Blush in Fetish: A very close second for favourite blush of 2015 was this pale, neutral pinky-nude blush with a matte finish. You can check out my review for swatches and more info.
Maybelline The Nudes and The Blushed Nudes eye shadow palettes: I have been super impressed with the Maybelline eye shadow palettes which are a great deal at only $14.99 CAD. I reached for both of these palettes so much this past year!
Guerlain Maxi Lash Mascara: Another repeat favourite from last year, I have yet to find a mascara I love as much as this one and repurchased several.
NYX Hot Singles eye shadow in S.O.S.: I loved the NYX Hot Singles and went a little overboard ordering 14 of them when they came out last year. My most-used shade turned out to be S.O.S. which I hit pan on. This soft, matte, cool-toned “greige” is a great natural looking shade for fair skin.
MAC eye shadows in Patina, Omega and Brule: These shadows were my go-to in 2015. As you can see I hit pan on all of them and have repurchased them.
MAC Real Redhead: Part of last year’s MAC is Beauty collection, I wore this lipstick all summer long. Sadly LE.
MAC Plumful: I was really into plum lipsticks this year, but my favourite plum was without a doubt MAC’s Plumful. I have used up over half of it.
Loreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set Makeup Extender Setting Spray: I was psyched to discover this awesome drugstore setting spray priced at $16.99 CAD, less than half the price of the Urban Decay setting sprays. I have gone through 2 or 3 bottles.
Maybelline Baby Lips: I have some of the tinted Baby Lips, but it was the regular, plain lip balm in the blue tube that lived on my makeup table and went on before any of my lip products all year.
That’s it for my favourite products of 2015. What were you loving last year?
Thanks for reading!
Love,
Nerdy Librarian Girl ❤

I’ve not heard of or seen the Marcelle Ideal Skin Perfector but I’ll keep a watch for it. I like non-silicone-y primers too. The ones I’ve liked most are more cream-gel based.
Oooh I’m planning on visiting the new NYX store! I’ll keep S.O.S. in mind!

Maybelline The Nudes was in my yearly favourites too – such a lovely palette! The MAC blush and lipsticks look amazing, Real Redhead would be appropriate for me considering my hair colour 🙂

isn’t it a great shade name? My sister is a redhead and I texted her a pic when I bought it. I’m sad its LE. I’m going to have to look for a dupe.

Ahh, I keep seeing the Maybelline palettes at Winners, but I never seem to pick them up. So glad to hear you like them – the Blushed palette is so pretty.
