I haven’t posted at all this week. It’s been a crazy, stressful and sad week for me. I had to make the very difficult decision to have my cat, Miss Vivien Leigh, put down. As any of you who have had to part with a pet know, its a terrible thing to have to do. If that wasn’t all bad enough, I also had my hot water tank give up and leak all over my basement. I had to have it replaced and then spend several days mopping and cleaning my basement. I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed.
A happy thing that happened this past week though, was a friend of mine picked up a very thoughtful present for me while she was on vacation. She was in a super cool store in Toronto, Loveless Boutique, and found this book, Retro Makeup: Techniques for Applying the Vintage Look. I had seen this book online (it looked amazing!) and was so happy that when she saw it, she thought of me. It definitely cheered me up.
Its really beautiful and filled with the makeup styles, colours and techniques of the 1920s, 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. Very cool! I feel inspired to try out some of the retro makeup looks.
I have some good posts coming up soon and hope to be posting more often than I have been this week. As always, I really appreciate you all for reading.
Thanks for reading!
Love,
Nerdy Librarian Girl ❤
Sorry to hear about your cat and basement. Sounds like a rough week. We had basement flooding earlier this year & it was a total nightmare. & I probably will cry if I think about losing a pet again. Hope everything from now goes btr for you. This book looks so cool!

Thank-you! Sorry about your basement too. It could have been worse, but it certainly is stressful to have to deal with.

I’m sure Vivien Leigh is at a better place now; we had to put down our dog a few months ago but he was in so much pain, I think sometimes it’s for the better – he died really peacefully after having loads of doggy treats!
and i cant wait to see what retro looks u try out!

Rest in peace Miss Vivien Leigh. I just went through the same thing with my little cat Snoopy. It is a hard decision to make. ❤
I love retro makeup looks 🙂

Thank-you. I know, you never think of that when you first get them, but sadly the day eventually comes.

Vivien Leigh is a great name for a cat! I’m so sorry you had to put her down. That truly is just the worst.
I can’t wait to hear more about this book, I’ve been very into the beauty of the 20’s and 30’s lately.
