I’ve been eying the Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette since it came out. Matte shadows are my favourite. Last month, I had a 10% off coupon from Sephora and I knew exactly what I wanted to use it on. The Tartelette palette is $53.00 CAD, so I was pleased to not pay full price. I’ve had this for several weeks now, and I’m glad to finally be reviewing it. I haven’t had a chance to post anything recently because Nerdy Librarian Girl has been away at two different nerdy librarian conferences.
I am really happy with this palette! I love the packaging. The palette is slim and lightweight, but the case is also very sturdy plastic that stays shut securely. I would actually not be nervous to travel with this palette, which is unusual. It comes with a full mirror as well.
The 12 matte shades are very pretty and wearable neutrals, that I think lean a little more towards the cool-toned side, and include a good mix of light, medium and darks. I think the shade names are cute too, which (unlike brands that go for sexually suggestive names, cough, cough *urban decay*) are more positive girl-power themed, like “Force of Nature”, “Natural Beauty”, and “Super Mom”.
I’d never tried any of the Tarte shadows before and I am impressed. They are so soft and smooth and easy to work with and blend – and mattes aren’t always the most blendable. I find the shadows long wearing too (I always use an eyeshadow primer).
Have you tried the Tartelette palette? Leave me a comment if you love matte eye shadows too!
Thanks for reading!
