I had never tried any of the MAKE UP FOR EVER eye shadows before. The newly revamped shadow singles that came out this fall that can be combined in custom duos or trios were a perfect excuse to give them a try. With over 200 shades in five different finishes (matte, satin, iridescent, diamond and metallic) it wasn’t hard to find shades that were right up my alley. All of the shades weren’t available in the Sephora I visited and I suspect it would be hard to find a location where you could swatch all 210, but they’re all available on the website.
The singles come in “temporary” plastic cases that look like this:
You COULD try to keep them in the plastic packaging but its fairly flimsy. You’re meant to also pick up a Mono, Duo, or Trio Custom Palette. I picked up the duo case:
The eye shadow singles are $24 CAD each, and the deal with the separate cases is: When you buy 2 shadows and a Duo Palette, a $9 discount will be applied automatically at checkout. When you buy 3 shadows and a Trio Palette, a $20 discount will be applied automatically at checkout. So presumably the case is free when you purchase shadows with it.
I was really drawn to two shades in particular: I-550 Olive Gray (Iridescent) and S-556 Taupe Gray (Satin). If you like taupe shadows, there are so many to choose from!
I think I might like these shadows as much as I like my MAC shadows. They are very pigmented, creamy and blendable, yet don’t leave any fall out when you’re applying them. They are as long wearing as my MAC shadows too. The MAC Pro Palette Refill Pans are only $12 CAD, but you do get much more product with the $24 MAKE UP FOR EVER shadow. These shadows are seriously huge.
I am loving them! Have you tried them yet? If you have any shades you love, leave me a comment, I’d love to hear from you!
Thanks for stopping by ❤
