Hello everyone! I am finally back from my trip, where I didn’t have any wifi access at the hotel or the conference centre. Sorry I haven’t been able to post anything. I had an amazing time and have lots of great stuff that I picked up in Vegas to tell you about.
While visiting the Venetian (yes, I did go on the gondola ride, lol) we strolled through the Grand Canal Shoppes where I spotted a Guerlain store. I can only order Guerlain through the Sephora website; They don’t seem to carry it in-store at the Canadian Sephoras. I was excited to actually get to see the products in real life and swatch them. My absolute favourite mascara is Guerlain Maxi Lash Volume Creating Curl Sculpting Mascara. I had recently used mine up and tried out two other mascaras in the meantime that I really didn’t care for (I will do a review of those soon).
The Guerlain Maxi Lash has a traditional bristle brush and is on the smaller, thinner side, so it’s a lot easier to apply than some of the mascaras with the popular new humongous wands. I just love the formula of this mascara – very thick! It really makes my lashes look thicker and fuller. And although I know it sounds weird, this mascara is just blacker than any other I’ve tried. It gives a dramatic false-eyelashes effect. It stays on, doesn’t flake or smudge, and doesn’t leave my lashes feeling crunchy and stiff. I was so happy to be wearing this again.
Since I could swatch, I also finally bought a Rouge G de Guerlain Lip Colour with the super fancy jewel lipstick compact. I picked the shade “15 Galiane”. Look how crazy fancy the lipstick case is! It even has a mirror that flips open on its own.
Galiane is a new shade just added this year (it’s not available on the Canadian Sephora site, but it is through the Nordstrom site). It’s a nudey-pinky-beige. The finish is slightly sheer, moisturizing, and a little bit glossy. It actually reminds me of MAC’s Lustre finish, which is my favourite, so the Rouge G de Guerlain formula is right up my alley. It has a very mild “lipstick” smell, but no taste. It was definitely a splurge, but I really do love it.
I paid $30 USD for the mascara, which is about $32 CAD. It’s $34 CAD through Sephora. The lipstick was $51 USD or about $54 CAD. They are $53 CAD through Sephora. So the cost was roughly the same as if I’d bought them in Canada.
I have lots more Vegas shopping to blog about, so stay tuned for more posts over the next few days! I’ll leave you with a pic of me on the gondola ride at the Venetian.
Thanks for Stopping by!
Love

GAH. I love shopping in Vegas. So luxe. And I’m dying for one of those gorgeous Guerlain lipsticks, especially the one similar to my name, “Gilian” 🙂

Yeah its really neat how all of the lipsticks have girl’s names. I am loving it. No regrets – definitely worth the splurge.
