The bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 quad in “The Truth” has been mentioned quite a bit by Kristen Gehm. I already had a bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 duo in “The Escape”, and I really liked the formula. The shadows are soft and buttery.
The light shade on the right “Daydream” is a lovely matte cream colour, similar to MAC’s Brule. The shade on the left, “Wanderlust” turns out fairly dark on me (its actually darker than it appears in this photo). If you are on the paler side, its a good duo for doing a dark smokey eye, with Wanderlust on the lid blended out with Daydream, but I really wanted to try some of their other palettes in lighter, neutral shades.
“The Truth” is a perfect quad if you are looking for wearable, everyday neutrals.
- “Serendipitous” – a light, cream colour with unfortunately a shimmery finish. I really wish this one was matte 😦
- “Magnetism” – An absolutely beautiful taupe with a slight sheen finish (similar to the finish of MAC’s Patina or Satin Taupe). This shade is my favourite and looks pretty as an all over lid colour.
- “Fate” – a medium, warm-ish brown with the same finish as Magnetism. Looks pretty in the crease.
- “Apropos” – The darkest shade, a cooler brown with little silvery glitter flecks, which actually don’t show up too much once applied.
I love three out of the four shades in this quad, and it would be an absolutely perfect little palette if the light, cream shade was matte. I prefer a matte shade for blending out and on my browbone. I can’t use Serendipitous for this, so I have to reach for my MAC Brule to complete the look.
Another great feature of the bareMinerals Ready eyeshadows is that the packaging is very sturdy and substantial and great for traveling. I feel safe packing them, and they all have a built in mirror.
The bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 4.0 quads are $38.00 CAD, and the 2.0 duos are $25.00 CAD. In Canada, bareMinerals is available at Sephora.
Thanks for stopping by!
