While I was on vacation in British Columbia, my skin was super dry. I popped in to a London Drugs in search of a hydrating mask, and the sales assistant recommended Avene Soothing Moisture Mask for Sensitive Skin. It does have a very slight scent, but Avene says the fragrance is “tolerated by sensitive skin”. I have not experienced any irritation. Its also preservative-free, hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic.
The directions say to leave on for 15 minutes, but I have been leaving it on overnight. My skin is dry enough that after 15 minutes it has pretty much soaked in completely. I wake up the next morning with soft, hydrated skin.
Avene recommends using it once or twice a week. It is very rich and although 72% thermal spring water , it does contain safflower oil. I have only been using it once a week or once every two weeks. I haven’t had any breakouts, but I don’t think if you are acne prone that you would want to use it too frequently. It is a really great mask for dry, sensitive skin.
