I received this eyeshadow brush in my September or October Ipsy Glam Bag. I had never tried any of their products as they’re not sold in stores in Canada (at least not as far as I have been able to find out). Coastal Scents are known for being inexpensive. The Classic Shadow Medium Natural Brush retails for about $2.75 CND and according to the Coastal Scents website is made of pony hair.

This is probably the worst brush I have ever used. Not only does it shed hairs, it also does not apply eyeshadow evenly. According to Coastal Scents, it will “uniformly cover the whole eyelid in just a few simple strokes.” I definitely did not find that to be true. I think instead of being a good deal, this brush is more of a case of you get what you pay for. It performs as I would expect a brush that you only paid $3 for to perform: badly.

Coastal Scents is only available in Canada through FTB Beauty, but they only seem to stock the eyeshadows. I would not recommend ordering through the Coastal Scents website as it states “We are not responsible for customs’ duties and taxes that may be charged on international orders. The country of destination may charge duty/tax fees” (which can be as high as 50% of your order price btw). So even though the makeup and brushes seem inexpensive they might not end up being much of a deal.
