For my Día de Muertos or “Day of the Dead” party, I did a sugar-skull inspired make-up look. Here’s a quick look at the products I used:
- Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer
- MAC blackground paint pot
- MAC smolder eye kohl
- MAC greensmoke eyeshadow (not pictured)
- NYX black eyeshadow single
- Milani Color Statement lip liner in true red
- NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in milk
- Ardell false lashes
- any small, pointed brush
I actually didn’t use anything to make my skin paler – I just skipped any bronzer or blush and this is how pale I look (lol). I used eyeshadow primer all around and under my eyes where I painted the black circles. For all of the black areas, I used MAC blackground paint pot and MAC smolder eye kohl, and I set it with NYX black eyeshadow (any matte black shadow would do).
I used MAC greensmoke eyeshadow on my lid to give my eyes a bit more dimension. For the red scallop pattern and dots I used the red lip liner outlined with the black eye kohl.
On my lips I used the milk Jumbo Eye Pencil and the MAC smolder eye kohl. I was surprised how well this stayed in place all night.
I made the flower headpiece myself using a headband, some Dollar Store fake flowers and a hot glue gun. It was super simple.
